B.K. College of Art & Craft, Bhubaneswar was
established in 1984 under the administrative control of the Department
of Tourism and Culture, Government of Orissa, Bhubaneswar. The college
is affiliated to Utkal University of Culture, Bhubaneswar. The college
is an institution for advance training in visual arts, leading to 4
years of bachelor degree in visual art. The college bears a commendable
aesthetical environment for growth of talents of the students.
The objective of the teaching programs and the training in the college
is to achieve overall refinement of the students’ perception not
confined to the technical skills of the profession alone, but also to
create the right kind of intellect, as well as aesthetic and emotional
cultivation to arrive at a level of composite creativity and thought. It
introduces the students to all the necessary traditional and modern
skills through studio courses and knowledge of art history and
aesthetics through lectures, seminars, exhibitions through various group
activities.
